The stockpiled forage canopy consists of tillers at different ages, which have specific development patterns. objective was to understand the Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu during stockpiling period, by morphogenic evaluation ages. experiment conducted in a completely randomized design, split plot scheme, with four replications. Three ages (young, mature and old) two periods (initial final) were evaluated. leaf appearance elongation rates higher young (0.05 tiller-1 day-1 0.62 cm day-1, respectively), compared old (0.02 tiller leaf-1 0.20 respectively). final length tillers' age groups same beginning stockpiling. number live leaves lower (2.4), (3.6) (4.1) ones, contrary stem length.
